Massachusetts Medical Marijuana Card

Massachusetts Medical Marijuana Card
The Massachusetts Medical Use of Marijuana Program (Program) registers qualifying patients, personal caregivers, Registered Marijuana Dispensaries (RMD), and RMD agents. The Program was established by Chapter 369 of the Acts of 2012, "An Act for the Humanitarian Medical Use of Marijuana,'' following the passage of Ballot Question 3 in the 2012 general election. Massachusetts now has over 50,000 active medical marijuana patients and that number is steadily growing. In order to become a patient, it's rather easy: You simply see one of the MetroXMD Doctors to get approved and then you can register with the state to receive your card. Following certification by your recommending physician, you’ll receive an email which includes your unique 4-digit PIN number and instructions on completing your online patient application. The online registration process includes two parts: Virtual Gateway: In this section, you’ll be asked to create an account and scan your photo ID. You’ll then receive a confirmation email which allows you to set up your patient account. To access the Virtual Gateway and get started, click here. MMJ Online System: You’ll receive an email link to the MMJ Online System after completing the steps in the Virtual Gateway. In this section, you’ll be asked to upload your photo ID and a current passport-style photo that will appear on your patient ID card. If you have a photo on file with the Massachusetts RMV, you’ll be able to retrieve and upload that photo through the online system. If you’re uploading your own photo, you’ll need to click “browse,” select the file, and then click “proceed” to complete the upload. You’ll also be asked to pay the $50 application fee or submit proof of low-income status to request a waiver. The final step is reviewing and submitting your completed application.
