When Will Marijuana Be Available in Maryland?
The Maryland medical cannabis has stated that they will open dispensaries this summer. The Medical Marijuana Doctor firm MetroXMD aims to expand and help the program to be accessible not only to all Maryland residents but even in Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, DC and more surrounding states.
On that note, registration and enrollment to the state cannabis programs have seen a spike as patients are looking to get situated. Cannabis should be available by August 2017.
The bill tasked Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as well as the Natalie M. LaPrade Medical Marijuana Commission to develop regulations for identification cards and patient registry, dispensary licensing, possession limits and settling fees. In June 1, 2016, the Natalie M. LaPrade Medical Marijuana Commission may now issue how many dispensary licenses are needed to serve the medical marijuana demands of the patients and caregivers given identification cards in Maryland.

Hi…I’m a VA resident and I want to get my medical card. On this site it says I need the referral, is that from any dr or it has to be a dr licensed in VA?? I look forward to your response. Thank you.

Virginia doesn’t have an established program yet, and no dispensaries are open. To get a card in Maryland or DC you need to prove residency in either of those states.
